DTI implements reduced business name registration fee

ZAMBOANGA CITY, July 5 (PNA)--The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has announced that businessmen who are applying for new business name and those renewing existing business name registrations have only until July 15 to avail of the 50 percent discount in Business Name (BN) registration.

DTI Provincial Director Rolando Acuña said it is in pursuant to Department Administrative Order No. 09-01 series of 2009 which took effect January 16, 2009 and to remain in effect for six months only.

Acuña said that those who will file on or before July 15 will only pay P150 or 50 percent less that the original fee of P300.

Those who will file after July 15 will have to pay the full amount.

Acuña said the DTI issued the administrative order to entice businessmen to file early their application for renewal of business name as well as registration of new business name.

Acuña said the applicants can visit his office or the National Research and Business Assistance Center-Zamboanga to avail of the discount.

He said that they have implemented measures to make it hassle-free for sole proprietorship businesses registration with the DTI.

He said the applicants may file it personally, which are now processed faster, or through on-line registration by logging-on to www.bnrs.dti.gov.ph. (PNA)
