DAVAO
CITY, March 12 (PNA) -- The Davao City Council has been hosting trade
fairs that showcase micro, small, and medium entrepreneurs (MSMEs) in
celebration of the 73rd Araw ng Dabaw from March 8 to 16.
The trade fairs committee on thanksgiving and social
enterprises activities officer-in-charge Charito Santos another event
dubbed Kaon ta Day! Lingaw ta Bay! (Everyone, let’s eat and enjoy)
showcased 60 food booths featuring various Davao culinary talents.
In addition to the trade fair for women entrepreneurs
currently held at the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) building, another
trade fair will open Friday through the partnership of the office of the
local council and the private sector.
“There will also be live band performances and other forms
of entertainment in the evening,” said Santos who heads SP’s
resolutions, ordinances, and agenda division.
Aside from the street activities, there are 18 booths for
MSMEs inside the SP building.
“This trade fairs started Monday and will end on March 16.
The MSMEs showcase products ranging from locally-processed food to
souvenir items. We don’t necessarily require them to declare their
income from the fair trade but we monitor if they really earn and they
do,” Santos said.
Santos said the trade fairs are the local council’s effort
as part of the 73rd Araw ng Dabaw with the theme "Katatagan at
Kapangyarihan: Pagpapatibay at Pagdiriwang! (Stability is Power:
Affirmation and Celebration)". (PNA)
