NEDA cites positive performance of Davao Region in ‘08 despite global crisis
DAVAO
CITY, Jan. 6 (PNA) -- The National Economic and Development Authority
(NEDA) in Davao reported a positive performance of the Davao Region
despite the global financial crisis.

regional director and Regional Development Council (RDC) vice chair
Maria Lourdes Lim reported an increase in production among others on
major export commodities.
Lim said in the NEDA report an increase in production was noted more on banana and coconut.
She said the fishery production also continued to rise, buoyed by the large leap in the volume of aquaculture production.
She
said the balance of trade of the Davao Region also improved to 205.3
million US dollars while tourists’ arrivals and earnings also rose by
10 percent.
Lim
added that infrastructure project accounted to about 479 worth P1.1
billion that were completed as of the third quarter last year. (PNA)
