BENECO vows to finish energization of all remaining remote barangays
BAGUIO
CITY, Oct. 7 (PNA) - Benguet Electric Cooperative (BENECO) general
manager Gery Verzosa Monday assured that energization of all remote
communities in Benguet province will be pursued in the next few years
so that the full development can permeate to all the people in the
area.
Verzosa
made the assurance as the cooperative celebrated its 35th anniversary
saying that the latest target of the energization program will be two
far-flung barangays of Kibungan town.
The project started when the National Electrification Administration (NEA) granted its millions of pesos funding.
He
said that prior ocular inspection in the area revealed that the nearest
public road to the community is some 29 kilometers away.
Verzosa
said that all Benguet communities deserve to be given the supply of
electricity because it hosts the three big hydro-electric dams in north
western Luzon which contribute greatly to the produced electricity
nationwide. (PNA)
