Cagayan State University now matures as a "trans-national education provider"

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Nov. 26 (PNA) - The government-run Cagayan State University (CSU) is now a trans-national education provider.

This level of academic maturity was attained after the school successfully launched the offering of undergraduate and graduate courses in Hongkong and Beijing, China upon approval of its board of regents early this year.

In its website www.csu.edu.ph, CSU reported that on August 31 its President Roger Perez, Vice-President for Academic Affairs Fr. Ranhilio C. Aquino and officials of the Manila Business College, a school CSU has a consortium with, met with the officials of the Continuous Professional Education Center based in Hongkong to finalize the commencement of the twinning and linkage.

The undergraduate courses offered in the Hongkong linkage include professional Diploma in Building Services Engineering, Professional Diploma in Facilities Management, Bachelor of Science in Building Services Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Facilities Management.

On the graduate level, the following degrees are now open to admit enrollees: Master in Business Administration, Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration and Doctor in Public and Legal Administration.

Late last month, Dr. Perez and Fr. Aquino flew to China to commence the delivery of the off-shore progams of CSU through their lectures before the class of over 30 students consisting of top ranking business and industry executives in the People's Republic of China, two law professors and even a town mayor.

These students who come from the different provinces and cities of China enrolled in these degrees under the Beijing scheme: Master in Business Administration and Ph.D. in Business Administration.

With the Beijing program, the Manila Business College will establish links with education center in China, while the CSU monitors the program implementation, accredits the professors and confers the degrees.

Fifty percent of the academic units are earned in China through sessions at which Beijing lectures, - previously accredited by CSU-teach. The rest of the academic units are earned in Manila at the Manila Business College under lecturers designated by the Cagayan State University.

Oral defense of thesis and dissertations in English will be held in the Philippines.
