DepEd-Quezon improves basic education strategies

MANILA, Feb. 9 (PNA) – The Department of Education (DepEd) in Quezon is improving its basic education strategies to public elementary and secondary schools in the province.

DepEd-Quezon officials said they are continuously developing the overall quality and efficiency of basic education in the province, especially in Lucena City.

Although the previous year has produced positive and productive outcomes through their activities, a lot is still being done to constantly develop the proficiency level of learners, DepED-Quezon said.

One of these challenges is improving the learning access. In the previous years, eight classrooms were built in cooperation with DepEd-Central Office in Pasig City to help solve the problem on the shortage of classrooms and reduce the gap in other educational resources such as teachers, books and seats.

Teacher training programs are also being conducted to upgrade quality and competence of teachers.

Educational resource is just as important as early preparation for the pupils. According to DepEd, it is important to start early in learning.

The eight-week Early Childhood Development (ECD) program is always implemented for ensuring that pupils entering grade one have appropriate preparatory experience, where the most vital key to learning is taught: reading, which is the most indispensable tool for learning. (PNA)
