MANILA, June 28 (PNA) -- President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo today joined the whole world in mourning the death of the “King of Pop" Michael Jackson, who died last Friday at the age of 50.

Press Secretary Cerge Remonde said the President considered Michael Jackson a “great musical talent" who inspired millions of people all over the world.

“Of course his (Jackson) death is an irreparable loss to the world music industry. And she (President) joins the world in mourning the loss of such a great musical talent who has given inspiration to hundreds of millions of people the world over,” Remonde said in an interview over Radyo ng Bayan this afternoon.

Remonde added that the President also acknowledges the contributions of Jackson to the cause of the colored peoples all over the world that helped pave the way for colored people, including Asians, to make their imprint on the international music scene. (PNA)
