MANILA, Dec. 2 (PNA) -- Pasay City will celebrate its 145th Foundation today, Tuesday as the city government lines up various activities for the city’s four- day celebration.

Malacañang issued Proclamation No. 1672, signed by Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita, declaring Tuesday a special non-working holiday to give the city the full opportunity to celebrate the foundation day with appropriate ceremonies.

“It will showcase the transformation of the city with its recovery even if it was placed into a dark period when a suspension order slapped to me together with Vice Mayor Tony Calixto and the 10 Councilors by the Office of the Ombudsman in September 2006,” Mayor Wenceslao ‘Peewee’ Trinidad said.

As part of the celebration, we have prepared a medical mission, cleanliness and beautification program in every barangay and street dancing and live band concert for free for all Pasayeños, Trinidad added.

Trinidad also instructed traffic enforcers, police and rescue team to maintain peace and order, while ambulance and fire trucks will be on standby in anticipation of any untoward incident.

Today, the city hosted a parade participated in by different department and offices at the City Hall.

Participants in parade are faculty and members of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Pasay (PLP) and Department of Education, City Cooperative Office, Housing Office, Urban Poor Affairs Office, Engineering and Planning Office, Pasay City General Hospital and Sangguniang Kabataan.

The float parade was conceptualized by Victoria Fuentes, head of the Tourism and Cultural Development Office. (PNA)
