Cabactulan decorated with ‘Order of Sikatuna’ for successful presidency of NPT conference

MANILA, July 1 (PNA) — For successfully steering the Review Conference of the United Nations on the Non-Nuclear Proliferation Treaty (NNPT) in New York last May — with results that brought honors to the Philippines — Ambassador Libran Cabactulan was presented the “Order of Sikatuna,” the Philippines’ highest accolade, in Malacanang in late June.

Then President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo conferred the decoration on Cabactulan, who is also the Philippine ambassador to the United Nations. His wife, Remedios Fe Cabactulan, witnessed the ceremonies.

He was commended by the outgoing Chief Executive for breaking a 10-year impasse in the global nuclear disarmament agenda. (PNA)
