MANILA,
Dec. 4 (PNA)--The RP Street Kids will get another chance to showcase
their talents and maybe show their worth in the Group Phase of the 2008
Homeless World Cup in Melbourne, Australia Thursday afternoon.
The
Filipinos ended the preliminary round with no win in five games but
having gained some experience in a foreign tournament, they hope to
play well.
The
Philippine team is now bracketed in Group H of Section 2 alongside with
Greece. Malawi, Romania, Sweden and Rwanda--all part of the Bottom 3 of
their respective groups.
Section
1 which features teams that have finished the top three of the
preliminary round of each group, will have four groups all in all.
At
the Thursday start of the secondary group matches, the Philippines
faces Greece in the afternoon then proceed to confront Malawi in the
evening session.
After
the secondary group, all of the participating teams will again be
grouped according to their win-loss performance to play another round,
giving each competing nation the chance to win any color of trophy.
The
RP team will arrive on Tuesday next week from Melbourne, Australia at 6
a.m., then hold a press conference at Don Bosco, Mandaluyong at 8 a.m.
