Palace confident Pacquiao will win vs Clottey -- Olivar

MANILA, March 12 (PNA) — Malacanang wishes pound-for- pound boxing champion Manny Pacquiao the best in his coming fight with Ghanaian challenger Joshua Clottey on Sunday at the Cowboys' Stadium in Arlington, Texas, USA.

"We are confident that Manny will win in his fight this coming Sunday with Clottey. He is focused on this fight. He should set aside first his political ambition but remain focused first on defeating Clottey," Deputy presidential spokesman Gary Olivar said in a media briefing at the Palace Thursday.

Undersecretary Olivar added, however, that Pacquiao should be very cautious on the head-butting attack of Clottey, who is known for his "dirty tactics."

Pacquiao has submitted his certificate of candidacy for the congressional seat of Sarangani province in the May 10 polls. He is running under the banner of the Nacionalista Party (NP) headed by its standard-bearer Senator Manuel Villar Jr. (PNA)
